The Role Our client are seeking a dedicated Instructor – Supported Learning to join their team on a maternity cover basis at their Huntingdon campus. This role involves supporting students with additional learning needs, delivering engaging and structured learning sessions, and ensuring an inclusive, positive learning experience. You will work closely with the wider support team, tailoring learning activities to meet individual student needs and encouraging independence, confidence, and progression. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, structured learning sessions for students with additional needs. Provide one-to-one and group support to help students achieve their learning goals. Adapt teaching approaches to suit individual learning styles and requirements. Support students in developing essential life and employability skills. Monitor student progress, providing feedback and guidance to support their development. Work collaboratively with tutors, learning support assistants, and other college staff. Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements. Contribute to student reviews and liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies where necessary. Requirements Experience working in an educational setting, preferably in further education or supported learning. A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one). Knowledge and understanding of additional learning needs, including SEND. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt teaching methods to engage and motivate students. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach. A commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment. An enhanced DBS check may be required.
