Site Reliability Engineer
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (SIEM technologies).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Areas of responsibility/Detailed Job Description:
1. Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure.
2. Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to improve reliability and performance.
3. Collaborate with development teams to ensure new features and services are reliable and scalable.
4. Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
5. Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems.
6. Conduct root cause analysis of incidents and implement preventive measures.
7. Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
8. Document processes, procedures, and best practices.
9. Perform detection rule tuning and creation in line with BT use case standards.
10. Perform patching/upgrades to ensure software version of SIEM components are up to date.
11. Ensure data sources are healthy and troubleshoot if they stop logging.
