Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor based in Billingshurst, West Sussex. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost control, preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost management, cost planning, and cost reporting for various residential projects. The Quantity Surveyor will collaborate with project teams to ensure that all financial aspects of the projects are handled accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the day-to-day cost management of residential construction projects.
2. Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for various projects.
3. Monitor and control costs, ensuring that projects are delivered on budget.
4. Prepare detailed cost reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
5. Collaborate with project teams to ensure financial efficiency and accuracy.
6. Assist in cost planning and cost forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Place sub-contract packages and manage the procurement of materials.
8. Conduct regular financial reviews and audits to maintain project profitability.
9. Advise on cost-related issues and provide solutions to overcome financial challenges.
10. Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Proven experience in cost control, cost management, and cost planning within the construction industry.
2. Extensive experience in the preparation and management of Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
3. Strong proficiency in cost reporting and financial analysis.
4. Ability to work independently, with strong analytical and numerical skills.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Experience in residential construction projects is essential.
7. Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
8. Experience in placing sub-contract packages and procuring materials.
Desirable:
1. Experience working with housing associations, councils, or private clients.
2. Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement methods.
