Planner (Conservation) – Development Management
Permanent, 37 hours per week
Salary NS11 - £37,938 - £39,513 per annum
We have an exciting opportunity at the Planner level to join our well-respected and valued conservation team within our planning service.
You will be able to deal with all relevant types of heritage related development management applications and should have experience of working within the historic environment sector. You should be able to demonstrate familiarity with a variety of heritage assets, polite and vernacular architecture, conservation best practice and legislation. A keen appreciation of the techniques and traditions of historic building construction would be advantageous, as would experience in a local planning authority context (including working with elected members and external partners such as Historic England).
We are looking for experienced colleagues to be able to hit the ground running. Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will deal with a range of heritage applications, appeals and other associated issues. Being eligible for membership of IHBC or working towards it would also be desirable but not essential.
The postholder will need to have regular access to a vehicle to enable them to travel within/outside the district to carry out their duties.
