Are you ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role as a Principal Design Engineer? As a leader in advanced technological and engineering solutions, our client is looking for a talented individual to join their team for an 18-month contract in London, United Kingdom.
Role Overview
* Lead and oversee detailed FE analysis for subsea pipeline and spools design activities, such as: Wall thickness, Stability, Bottom roughness, and Freespan.
* Utilize software tools such as Orcaflex, ANSYS, and ABAQUS to ensure structural integrity and stability.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure installation and constructability aspects are considered in pipeline systems design.
* Conduct hand calculations and utilize FEA software to analyze statics, dynamics, fatigue, and other structural aspects.
* Stay up-to-date on industry standards and best practices for subsea engineering.
* Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers.
* Communicate effectively with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
* Work onsite at the designated location.
Skills & Qualifications
* Degree in civil, structural, or mechanical discipline.
* Extensive experience in subsea engineering with knowledge of typical subsea software tools.
* Comprehensive understanding of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and fatigue.
* Proficiency in software tools such as Orcaflex, ANSYS, and ABAQUS (2D shell and 3D solid elements).
* Familiarity with DNV SESAM, Sage Profile 2D, and AutoPIPE will be beneficial.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
* Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
* Ability to work onsite at the designated location for the duration of the contract.
Education & Experience
Degree in civil, structural, or mechanical discipline. Certifications in relevant software tools or industry standards will be beneficial.
