Job Title: Stores Assistant Starting Salary: £24,790 progressing to £27,269 Hours: 22.0 Location: Hertford Contract Type: Permanent Directorate: Community Protection About the team This is an exciting opportunity to join Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service's Operational Support team with our mission to keep Hertfordshire's firefighters equipped and ready to respond to operational incidents across the county. Operational Support is a key area of Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue's Technical Services department. They hold the responsibility for stock management, administration of Equipment/Uniform/PPE, fulfilling requisitions and logistics to enable front line crews to provide an effective operational response. About the role This is a fast paced and often reactive environment, dependant on operational incidents, therefore you'll need to be able to work under pressure, be able to work as part of a team and be extremely well organised, taking a pro-active approach to your workload. Typically, you will be: Ensuring that HFRS requisitions for operational equipment, uniform/PPE and ancillary items are fulfilled to ensure operational response. The movement, transport and carrying of equipment, as required, within the area covered by HFRS. Managing HFRS goods inwards and outwards process. Using computerised systems for maintaining records of all equipment allocation, tracking, tracing and managing of assets. About you Essential: Full UK driving licence. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Proactive approach to workload management. Desirable: LGV driving licence.
