We are looking for a Band 7 Community Mental Health Nurse to work in our new service, the Initiating Treatment Team, which was set up in April 23. We are a Brief Intervention service providing short-term treatment, care, and support for people with mental health difficulties in the primary care sector. This role will give you the opportunity to network and build relationships with services and patients from across the Primary Care Network.
The successful candidate will work closely with our new Primary Care Network Mental Health Team to facilitate reviews of patient needs and initiate mental health treatment for a range of conditions, promoting health and wellbeing through health promotion and education. The role also involves providing education, monitoring, and initiation of mental health medication management in primary care.
This is an exciting new service for the successful candidate to lead and shape the way forward in the delivery of Community Primary Care Mental Health Services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be able to demonstrate the following:
1. Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
2. Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification or willingness to undertake the training
3. Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD)
4. Experience of working within a Mental Health setting
5. Ability to work under pressure and manage stress effectively
6. Robust clinical judgement
7. Ability to work autonomously and take appropriate responsibility
8. Participate in Patient Safety investigations and complaints in line with Trust policies
9. Mentorship and supervision of students
10. Develop innovative practices to manage referrals, allocations, monitoring of KPIs, and clinical caseload management
11. Hold a UK driving licence to drive to Primary Care Network bases and Trust sites
