IT Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Dartford
Salary: £35k - £45k
Working Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (08:30 – 17:30), Monday to Friday

As IT Infrastructure Engineer your expertise in networking, server management, and system monitoring directly impacts the operational success of the group. Based predominantly at their Dartford Head Office, you will become a vital part of their existing Infrastructure Team, maintaining the core systems that the business relies on. With over 95% of your time spent at their central hub, this role offers stability with the right amount of variety and challenge.
The role
1. System Mastery: Maintain critical networking components (including switches, routers, firewalls) and servers (focusing on Windows Server 2016+, RDS, and SQL Servers).
2. Virtualisation: Oversee their VMWare platform on HP ProLiant servers, ensuring seamless operation.
3. Backup and Security: Manage backups with Veeam, monitor systems via Nagios, and keep their digital environment secure and recoverable.
4. Project Participation: Contribute to infrastructure projects, providing your technical acumen to innovate and improve.
5. Incident Resolution: Prioritise and resolve incidents swiftly, ensuring minimal impact on operations. Provide out-of-hours support on a rotational basis for critical escalations.
6. Collaborative Expertise: Work alongside various teams to troubleshoot complex issues, improving system reliability and user satisfaction.
Requirements
1. Ownership of problems and driving solutions.
2. Proficiency in Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
3. Experience with VMWare and Veeam; qualifications in these areas are a plus.
4. Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, and intricate networking concepts such as subnets, VLANs, firewall rules, and NAT.
5. The ability to work independently, guided by your initiative and expertise.
