Consultant – Health & Safety, TMT - London ERM is looking for an ambitious and passionate Health & Safety Consultant at the intermediate level of their career to support the successful delivery of ERM proposals and projects working with a range of clients to improve health & safety performance, principally in the t echnology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector. The role may require you to be seconded into one of our large TMT clients, part time or full time, working closely with their Group EHS Leads to improve H&S performance during construction and operations. You will be part of our interdisciplinary and international team and will collaborate with ERM offices across the UK, EMEA and globally. A willingness to travel within the UK and some international travel is required – candidates must have a valid passport and preferably full driving licence. The ideal candidate will hold a degree (minimum) level qualifications in related subjects and/or NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent), be registered or hold membership status in a related institution and have four years or more experience working in the field of Health and Safety within industry and/or consultancy. Comprehensive knowledge of UK H&S regulations and CDM regulations is required as well as experience working in the field/on site. We are looking for individuals who can display strong team-working and interpersonal skills with the confidence to interact with all different levels within a client organisation, together with the proven ability to write clear, well-articulated reports and deliver impactful presentations. This role will be based from our London office (a West London presence is desirable given the location of a number of our TMT clients/projects). ERM has a hybrid working policy and supports flexible and part-time working arrangements. Main Responsibilities: As a Health & Safety Consultant joining our team, your key focus will be to support the successful delivery of technical and strategic H&S projects with clients in the TMT sector. In addition, the position will require the successful candidate to: Be versatile, and comfortable working on a range of health & safety projects and programmes; Be agile to work across a range of sectors (outside of TMT where needed); Have experience developing and implementing health & safety management systems and safety improvement and assurance programmes (and be familiar with ISO45001); Have some experience working in the field undertaking health & safety audits (i.e. UK legal compliance, contractor safety audits, ISO450001 audits) and be comfortable working directly with clients /on site; Have good working knowledge of UK H&S legal requirements and CDM regulations and have experience working within a construction and operational environment. Experience working internationally and an appreciation of international best practice is desirable but not essential; Be comfortable and skilled in writing reports and technical documents, and preparing presentations; Be comfortable supporting with the delivery of health & safety related training and coaching programmes; Be actively involved in the day-to-day management of projects, managing budgets, resources, deliverables and scheduling; Support our Senior-sellers with business development to help grow our business including fostering relationships with existing and new clients through effective project and program delivery; and Support the development of more junior colleagues through formal or informal coaching/mentor support.
