Unique School Solutions are supporting a Primary School in the S60 area of Rotherham to appoint a Special Needs (SEND) Teaching Assistant to work in KS1. The role will be working 1:1 with a Y2 student who has Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). You will support the student within the classroom and in the schools additional resource unit, under the direction of the teacher. This is a full-time position, working 8:30 - 15:30 Monday to Friday. The role is to start in ASAP and for the right person could lead to a permanent job after 12 weeks.

Essential requirements for the role:
- Experience of working with children/adults with Pathological Demand Avoidance for at least 3 months within the last 2 years
- Personal care experience beneficial but not essential
- Resilience. Due to the needs of the student, there can be instances of physical aggression
- Empathetic, calm and patient nature
- The ability to work under the direction of the class teacher as well as using own initiative
