Job Overview We are looking for an enthusiastic Electronics Engineer to join Arm’s Boards & Packaging team, who are working at the forefront of embedded design based around Arm products. We are responsible for: Creating physical hardware development platforms, based around Arm’s custom system-on-chip (SoC) and FPGAs. These platforms are used for software development and validation activities by both our external partnerscustomers and our internal development teams. If you’re interested in: ● The potential to work on all aspects of board development, from specification to customer release. ● Using mathematical concepts and algorithms to solve the unique challenges of today’s complex board layouts. ● The challenges of bringing up a new development board. ● Gaining a deeper understanding of system architecture and performance. ● Working alongside many other teams including system architects, CPUSystem IP designers, physical chip layoutpackaging engineers. ● Interaction with Arm’s partners and customers both through the support organisation and directly and, a real interest in new technologies and how Arm fits in. Then we have a role for you What you could be doing as an Intern in our team? As a Graduate, you will be placed in a development team at Arm’s offices in Cambridge, UK where you will have a mentor, and be able to get to grips with the problems ranging across many hardware areas. You will work across every aspect of the product lifecycle whilst being supported by and learning from the rest of the team. We are looking for individuals who: ● Have a basic understanding of digital and analog electronics and circuit diagrams. ● Have a passion for embedded computing that goes beyond your studies. ● Can demonstrate creative and structured approaches to problem-solving, learning and self-development. ● Feel comfortable communicating within a small team. ● Have demonstrable knowledge of Linear Algebra, Graph Theory, computational geometry and Optimization techniques (LinearNon Linear programming). Qualities that will help your application stand out: The following skills are not essential for this role, but experience in any of the following areas would enhance your application: ● Knowledge of any Schematic and layout tool. ● Hands-on experience with hardware and software debuggers or Embedded hardware debug using oscilloscopes. ● Knowledge of some programming languages like C and Python to aid scripting and automation. ● Knowledge of a leading RISC based computer architecture ideally Arm. ● Excellent written and spoken English; can write coherent documentation. Additional Information: Arm Internships require you to be enrolled in a higher education degree and be returning to your course after your internshipplacement. If you are graduating in 2025 you will not be eligible for an Intern role, but you will be eligible for our Graduate roles. Our Graduate roles will be advertised on the Arm Early Careers website.
