As an Automation Engineer, what you'll be doing:
1. Identifying failure modes of plant equipment and returning the equipment to operation safely and in a reasonable timescale.
2. Overseeing machine upgrades/electrical projects.
3. Ensuring the site operates on a stable, reliable automation platform, and that appropriate procedures and training are in place to manage potential failures.
4. Providing advanced support to the engineering team in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex automation issues.
5. Collaborating with engineering teams to monitor operational processes, identifying efficiency opportunities and offering solutions to maximize plant performance.
6. Liaising with external service providers to optimize the performance and reliability of automation and plant equipment.
7. Clearly communicating any system changes to relevant stakeholders, ensuring proper documentation and backup plans are in place.
What we need from you:
1. Apprentice trained Electrical Maintenance Engineer with experience of maintenance & breakdowns for a manufacturer.
2. A level 3 equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
3. Experience in Senior Electrical Engineer or Automation Engineer role.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work as a team.
6. Have a flexible approach to service delivery.
7. A desire to help develop the role to best meet the requirements of the company and customers.
8. Full UK driving Licence.
