Job summary Band 7 Highly Specialised Respiratory Physiologist We are seeking a Highly Specialised Respiratory Physiologist to join our team on a 12 month fixed term basis. As an autonomous practitioner you will undertake and report on a range of routine and advanced lung function tests and procedures within the Respiratory Physiology Department, in accordance with ARTP criteria. There will be Rotation between external and internal sites. Main duties of the job Calibration, monitoring, safety and quality control of all equipment within the Lung Function Unit. You will provide highly specialist advice, teaching and training to both physiologists and other health care professionals within the multi-disciplinary team. To review, develop and facilitate the implementation of standard operating procedures and guidelines within the department in accordance with current research, and national / local guidelines. Financial planning, capacity and demand reviews and understanding of budget management. To keep abreast of current advances and best practice in Respiratory Physiology, in order to provide an excellent quality patient care service, through cost effective innovation within the ever changing healthcare industry. To plan and undertake a range of simple and complex respiratory diagnostic tests in accordance with ARTP criteria/local and agreed standards.
