Job overview
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Admin Team Leader to support our dedicated admin team within Cardiology at Torbay Hospital.
The successful candidate will be an experienced admin supervisor, have excellent communication skills and an eye for detail. They will need to work independently, prioritising and managing their own workload effectively and responding to the needs of the department.

Main duties of the job
To provide line management support and supervision of the secretarial and administration teams with the Cardiology department ensuring strict compliance with Trust policies and procedures.
Working for our organisation
The Cardiology Department at Torbay Hospital is based across two units, the Heart and Lung Unit and the Cardiac Catheter Suite.
As a multi-disciplinary team, we work closely with Consultant Cardiologists, specialist Cardiac Physiologists, nursing staff, administrative team, Specialty Doctors, and Specialist Registrars.

* Good Standard of Education GCSE / Equivalent
* Keyboard Skills
* NVQ3 in administration or equivalent
* Evidence of leadership skills
* Ability to manage conflict
* Experience of change management
* Evidence of problem-solving skills
* Experience working with PCs and spreadsheets
* Experience of compiling departmental timetables and rotas
* Knowledge of Microsoft software
* Able to communicate effectively with all
* Ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines
* Customer Care
* Ability to work on own initiative & part of a team
* Good interpersonal skills
* Proven relevant NHS supervisory experience
* Experience of working in multi-skilled teams
* ECDL or equivalent
* Understand patient access policy
* Understand RTT, performance targets, and waiting lists
* Understand PTL
* Knowledge of systems (C&B, infoflex, Allocate, Tempre, Galaxy etc)
