Overview of Responsibilities
The starting salary for this role is £18,810.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.
UKAEA’s Apprenticeship Scheme will allow you to gain the technical knowledge, practical experience, and wider skills and behaviours needed for your immediate job role and future career. The successful apprentice will gain this through a combination of formal off-the-job training and the opportunity to apply these skills in a real work environment through on-the-job training.
The Role

As Level 3 Apprentice Welder, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the installation, manufacture, repair, and maintenance of components for fusion systems to support UKAEA's mission. You will be part of a team that provides engineering expertise for the installation and support of a wide variety of equipment across many parts of UKAEA in all Engineering disciplines.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Complete national academic qualification as defined by the apprenticeship training standard: Mechatronics Maintenance Technician / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.
2. Attend designated training provider, develop and attain a good knowledge of technical skills.
3. Represent the UKAEA Organisation and attend external outreach and careers events.
