Grade: UKRI Pay Band D
Salary: £36,650 per annum

About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a librarian to work as Content Coordinator supporting the provision of electronic content across the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) Library Service. This role will deliver content to British Antarctic Survey (BAS), British Geological Survey (BGS) and NERC Head Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for electronic subscriptions renewals, and will work with library systems Sharepoint, and Library Management System, Worldshare Management Services (WMS) as well as liaising with UKRI Procurement and Commercial Business Partners.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
* Manage subscriptions and renewals for the NERC Library Service (NLS), liaising with JISC and publishers directly over resource where necessary. Request quotes as necessary, liaise with Library managers over subscription renewals, maintain up to date records of licences and renewal dates.
* Monitor the budget effectively and provide projections of spend to Chief Librarian.
* Work with the Chief Librarian to manage the joint library services provided to BAS, BGS and Head Office liaising with key library staff and stakeholders in these organisations. Represent NLS at internal and external meetings when required.
* Provide management information as required to the NLS Governance Group.
* Maintain usage metrics of resources provided by NLS.
* Deal with access and authentication issues to resources relating to IP ranges and Shibboleth provision.
* Assist with WMS Library Management system (some configuration where necessary and general management).
* Assist with development of NLS Sharepoint site.
* Manage own professional development by attending relevant training courses, undertaking professional reading and engagement.

Essential
* Degree in Library and Information Management or relevant information management qualification (S).
* Understanding of library subscription landscape and awareness of open access policies (S&I).
* Experience of working with library systems and databases (S&I).
* Excellent time management skills and attention to detail (S&I).
* Capable of working independently but know when to refer upwards (S&I).
* Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others (S&I).
* You will be committed to a diverse and inclusive approach to work in the geosciences (S&I).
Desirable
* Be a Chartered member of CILIP or be willing to work towards this qualification (S&I).
* Awareness of GDPR and Data Protection (I).
