How you'll make a difference
As an Administrator for the Youth Offending Service, you will provide administration support to the frontline staff helping young people move away from a potential life of crime. If you want to be part of a dedicated and supportive team, this could be the role for you.
You will be the first point of contact, and all enquiries must be dealt with sensitively and with confidentiality.
What you will be doing
1. Based at Patchway Police Centre, you will provide a full range of administration duties including answering the phone, ordering stationary, arranging appointments, booking rooms, data and information gathering and inputting.
2. The team receives emails from Police and Youth Justice, detailing offences and the young people suspected of committing them. It will be your responsibility to ensure these details are entered accurately onto our case management system.
3. In this role, you will coordinate panel hearings, including booking rooms, compiling documentation and ensuring that Court Officers and Youth Justice Panel members receive this in a timely manner.
4. When required, you will oversee petty cash and create payments using our in-house finance system.
What we need from you
1. You will hold a minimum qualification of three GCSE passes at Grade 4 (Grade C) including English and maths or have equivalent relevant experience within a similar role in administration.
2. Given the nature of the role, you will have good organisational skills and attention to detail to compile letters and contribute information to reports.
3. You must be able to communicate effectively to a wide audience including service users, professionals and partner agencies, using a variety of media such as email, phone and face to face.
4. We require you to have experience of using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and be willing to learn other computer-based applications.
What you need to know
1. This is a part-time role, working 21 hours per week. Your salary will be pro-rated to hours worked.
2. Please note that due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained.
