About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a challenging school in Southampton. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs. The role is full-time, and the school is seeking someone who is patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting children with a variety of needs in a demanding yet rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with special educational needs.
2. Assist with the development and implementation of individual learning plans.
3. Manage classroom behaviour and encourage a positive learning environment.
4. Work alongside teachers and other staff to monitor progress and adapt learning strategies.
5. Promote independence and positive social interactions among students.
Key Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with SEN students, ideally in a school or educational setting.
2. Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
3. Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students with diverse needs.
4. Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a structured manner.
5. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
