Role: Associate South West Ecology Team Lead
Location: Bristol, with occasional visits to Exeter and Cardiff
We're seeking an ambitious and commercially minded leader to oversee the South West Ecology team. This pivotal role combines operational leadership, strategic collaboration, and a strong focus on business development. You'll be joining a dynamic organisation that values teamwork, innovation, and a sense of belonging.
About the Role:
As the South West Team Lead, you'll oversee the Bristol office and support satellite locations in Exeter and Cardiff. Working closely with the Regional Ecology Directors (South & North), other operational leads, and technical specialists, your primary focus will be to deliver the annual strategy for Ecology and drive commercial success in the region.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborating with the Regional Ecology Director (South) to achieve the South West team's annual objectives.
* Analysing operational data, managing pipeline opportunities, and driving sales activity.
* Supporting recruitment, HR decision-making, and subcontractor partnerships.
* Ensuring efficient workload delivery with the resource coordination team.
* Addressing technical gaps and regional requirements in collaboration with Technical Leads.
* Preparing monthly operational reports for the South West team.
* Managing large or complex projects, mentoring junior project managers, and driving client excellence.
About You:
We're looking for a natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings:
* Academic credentials in ecology or biological sciences.
* Full membership of CIEEM (or Chartered Ecologist/working towards Chartership).
* Strong grasp of legislative and planning policy frameworks.
* Proactive leadership and mentoring experience.
* An eye for detail and a results-oriented mindset.
* Enthusiasm, confidence, and a commitment to innovation and excellence.
* A full UK driving licence.
Salary & Benefits:
This role offers a competitive salary of £50,040 - £57,700, aligned with 2025 pay banding and dependent on experience. Benefits and opportunities for progression will be discussed during the interview process.
