EYST & Youth Sports Trust – Set For Success Internship Project Overview We are excited to announce that we will be recruiting for an intern opportunity at EYST in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust (YST). This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team delivering the Set for Success programme funded by the Wimbledon Foundation in partnership with Barclays, an intensive Athlete Mentor led, youth leadership initiative targeting young people who are most at risk of becoming not engaged in education, employment, or training (NEET). This rare opportunity will develop your skills in school support, event administration, customer service and data management. You will be keen to work within a team and deliver excellent results for young people in the local area. This is a fabulous opportunity to learn many transferable skills and build relationships with Athlete Mentors, organisations as well as support the Set for Success school network in your locality. Your role in EYST will include support our Provision delivered from out Drop in Centre including our Youth work delivered to young people aged 11-25 and the activities delivered by our Sanctuary Hub Team. Hours of Work 35 hours per week (PT) Incl. some evenings & weekends - 21 hours with YST and 14 hours with EYST Salary £22,000 per annum Tenure 12 Month Fixed contract Responsible for Young people & Children aged 11-25 Responsible to YST Project Lead & EYST Co-Director/ Head of Services and Partnerships Location of Work Swansea (work across the region) Notes The time on the role is split between working with YST and working with EYST Successful candidate will need to have an enhanced DBS. EYST To support the delivery of our holistic services as part of our Drop in centre provision Principal Accountabilities and Main Duties YST role 1. Providing customer service by email and phone 2. Support SFS Athlete Mentor and teacher sessions in the 6 schools in the area. 3. Support the lead teacher in each school with administrative tasks including research and insight, reporting, Leadership Skills Foundation awards, new supplier forms, travel, and accommodation support. 4. Support the schools to understand the full requirements of the SfS programme and ensure the athlete mentor visits are being booked in, the right space is booked for the sessions and the relevant kit and resources are provided for the sessions. 5. Attend and support the area and national events. EYST 1. Support the delivery of EYST Youth Work Activity in Swansea 2. Support the delivery of EYST Sporting Activity in Swansea 3. Support the wider activities held within EYST Drop in Session including the range of activities provide to our clients in our Sanctuary Hub General Duties YST role 1. Adhere to all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures and report any concerns. 2. Support Youth Sport Trust and lead organisation in retaining an inclusive culture and ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded in all aspects of the role. 3. Work within data protection, information security and health and safety policies and guidelines. 4. Contribute to the timely, accurate and efficient use of management information across the programme by adhering to reporting system requirements. 5. Promote, uphold, and demonstrate the Youth Sport Trust and lead organisations values. 6. Any other duties which may be reasonably required from time to time, and which are commensurate with the post. EYST Role 1. To ensure regular reporting and updates to partners and within EYST as required. 2. To ensure the collection, entry and return of information as required for monitoring and evaluation, input onto EYST CRM system (Charitylog). 3. To take part in training courses, staff meetings and regular supervision. 4. To work within relevant health and safety legislation. 5. To ensure that the project promotes and reflects equality of opportunity at all levels. 6. To ensure that EYST Safeguarding, Data Protection, Health and Safety and all other relevant policies are implemented. 7. To uphold the confidentiality of information of service users. 8. To carry out any other duties that may from time to time be required. Person Specification 1. An understanding of the challenges facing Young people including Young People from ethnic minority backgrounds 2. Passionate for Sport and participation across all skill levels 3. Commitment to Values of YST and EYST 4. Willingness to work with External partners and stakeholders 5. Willingness and ability to travel across Swansea (and South Wales if required) 6. Good communication and interpersonal skills (working with young people and professionals). 7. Ability to working with others in a Team 8. Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding including Digital Safeguarding issues. 9. Organised and with good time keeping skills 10. Good IT skills, with willingness to learn new skills 11.
