Main duties of the job
The Trust Integration Engine (TIE) is the root of theTrusts IT Messaging Network. The TIE manages all trust interfaces and handlesthe messages that are transferred between systems. The main purpose of this role is to maintainthe stability of the TIE and ensure key systems within the Trust remainoperational on a day to day basis.
Workingwith information system suppliers and Trust staff, the position holder will beresponsible for assisting with the delivery, installation, system management,development and support of the interface and integration requirements for Trustinformation systems.
Tobe involved in future developments of the TIE and other Trust systems ( EPR).This will include working with Trust staff and system suppliers to identify therequirements and to assist in the system analysis and development of systeminterfaces.

Job responsibilities
Assist in the development and implementation ofintegration solutions, hosted within the Trust Integration Engine (TIE), donein association with relevant system suppliers and IM&T staff
Manage and support the interfaces developed within theTrust Integration Engine (TIE)
Ensuring all interfaces are protected by adoptingTrust standard processes such as Change Management and appropriate security,backup and housekeeping procedures, with supporting documentation.
Provide first and second linetechnical support for TIE developed interfaces and where required escalateissues to system suppliers.
Provideinterfacing expertise and serve as a key liaison between system suppliers andTrust IM&T personnel, providing assistance in defining system integrationrequirements.
Supportand enhance new and existing interfaces written in current and future standardsincluding HL7, JSON, XML, ITK, FHIR, fixed and variable length formats andODBC, CACHE databases and SQL.
Assistin the preparation and execution of system user acceptance testing (UAT) plans in relation to interfacing / integration system testing.
Ensureany developments are fully tested to a standard where data integrity ismaintained and in accordance with security and confidentiality standards.
Participate indata quality initiatives to improve the data on information systems used withinthe Trust.
Work with otherTrust teams in the development and maintenance of existing Information systems
MAINDUTIES
The post holderwill be required to interpret and communicate complex issues to non-IM&Tstaff and will be required to prepare and present information for meetings withsuppliers.
The post holderwill organise their own workload and will need to be responsive to variableworkloads.
Initiate, planand modify work packages providing advice/guidance on system usage andconfiguration. This will include working with end users to configure thesoftware to support the way in which they work. This will involve theinterpretation of complex information, analyses and specialist knowledge.
Will undertakethe testing and quality assurance for systems, or changes that need to bepresented to the Change Advisory Board. They will ensure that the change is fitfor purpose before being released to end users. They will also review the documentationthat is provided to enable the support of systems.
To lead ininternal user groups and participate in external user groups and other meetingsleading workshops to facilitate future system developments.
To be the maincontact with the system provider.
To document TrustData flows for all systems for which they have responsibility and ensure theseare detailed in the Trust IG Toolkit.
Although not animmediate requirement, it may be possible in future that the post holder willbe a part of the out of hours on call rota.
Provide therequirement for planning the delivery of interfacing / integration formultifaceted IM&T projects.
Plan andprioritise workload, making best use of available resources.
Work withsuppliers and relevant IM&T staff to ensure interfaces adheres to NHS datastandards, and that any maintenance work is undertaken with limited disruptionthe Trust services.
Will need to beflexible to adjust work schedules to meet system implementation requirementsand timeframes.
Participate increating appropriate supporting technical documentation with a generalunderstanding of the business and user processes.
Maintain anawareness of changes in systems, and the impact on interfacing/integration.
Participate inIM&T projects, in relation to interfacing and integration, alongside otherIM&T staff.
To be involved inthe development of system backup and contingency planning.
To advise ClinicalIT Systems and Operational Services manager of any operational issues.
