Legal Counsel
Location: Norwich or London based
Salary: around £60,000 (National); around £75,000 (London) – depending on experience
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Legal Counsel to join our UK Employment Law team. This is a great job for someone who is looking to join a collaborative team, enjoys working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and who is able to demonstrate self-starting capabilities to develop their knowledge in the full range of employment law issues.
A bit about the job:
You will be joining a committed and caring team who are tasked with delivering first class employment law advice to our broad range of internal stakeholders. This includes:
* Providing legal advice on all aspects of employment law as part of the Employment Law team
* Supporting on legal initiatives and projects (including oversight and advice on key legislative and common law developments affecting the business)
* Actively managing the instruction of external lawyers
* Proactively identifying best practice and contributing to the sharing of expertise and resource across the team
* Proactively monitoring and mitigating legal risks
The role can be based in Norwich or London, with a requirement for some occasional travel to other business centres.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* A qualified Legal Executive or Solicitor, entitled to practice in the UK with relevant post-qualifying experience
* Proven ability to work with people at different levels
* Excellent oral and written communication and problem-solving skills
* Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Ability to use initiative, work efficiently and prioritise multiple tasks
What you’ll get for this role:
* Salary around £60,000 (National) - £75,000 (London) - depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
* Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
