We’re seeking a future team member for the role of VP Auditor to join our Financial Crimes team in Internal Audit. This role is located in Manchester – Hybrid position (3 days in office).
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
1. Participate in delivering complex Financial Crime and Sanctions audit assignments.
2. Participate in the end-to-end planning, fieldwork, and reporting of Financial Crime audit assignments - this will require consideration of complex, judgmental business processes and decisions.
3. Identify meaningful issues impacting business and operations under review, collaborating with management to develop appropriate remedial action to address the issues identified.
4. Lead projects and meetings with stakeholders.
5. Prepare draft audit reports.
6. Follow-up of audit actions and where necessary testing their implementation.
7. Build and proactively manage relationships with key stakeholders and participate in Continuous Monitoring.
8. Contribute to the development of the annual audit plan.
9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
10. Carry out other ad-hoc tasks and projects as directed by audit senior management.
11. Perform follow-up procedures on Internal Audit observations to ensure corrective actions have been appropriately implemented.
12. Represent Internal Audit on projects and at management meetings/committees.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
1. Strong experience in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions related processes. Experience in Financial Crime Audit preferred.
2. Knowledge of US laws rules and regulations such as Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act, and OFAC.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including working with stakeholders.
4. Relevant years of experience working in financial services or banking, within Third Line Internal Audit or Second Line Risk or Compliance Monitoring.
5. Proven track record in leading and delivering risk-based projects.
6. Good understanding of audit methodologies.
7. Good knowledge of Financial Crime regulatory and legislative requirements.
8. Proven record of strong communication and influencing skills.
9. Strong knowledge and use of Excel and other Microsoft software – PowerPoint, Word, Visio.
10. Excellent planning, coordination, organization, and presentation skills.
11. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, including with colleagues remotely.
12. Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience and have completed a recognized relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g. CIA, CMIIA, ACA, ACCA, CAMS), but not essential.
