Vacancy – Field Service Engineer
We are looking to recruit a permanent Field Service Engineer. You will be a specialist supplier providing specialist service machines together with City and Guilds training to clients. You will work closely with the Service and Training Coordinator and Head of Training to manage a hugely active workload repairing, servicing and maintaining customers service units. The role will involve business travel and staying away. A company van is provided and fully equipped.
Due to the nature of the business/product the hours will change between Summer and Winter. Between the months of March – October you will work 8 hours a day between 08.00 – 17.00 (40 hours per week) and between the months October – March between 09.00 – 17.00 Monday – Thursday and 09.00 – 16.00 Friday. (34 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities:
Duties will include but not limited to the following –
• Deliver & assess City and Guilds training courses
• Servicing of machinery
• Upselling of products and services while eon site
• Providing customers with technical information as and when required
• Taking down customer enquiries and consulting on best-fit solutions to match a wide range of budgets
• Identify new opportunities for appropriate services and products
• Utilise existing and establish new customer contacts
• Work with the Sales Manager and marketing teams on positioning, targeting and marketing strategies
• Position and sell solutions based on customers’ needs, challenges and requirements
• Understanding of the market, competition and technology ensuring our client’s solutions are technically competitive and aligned with customer expectations
• Help drive sales growth within the business
• Be able to drive and deliver units and on-site training
• Maintain stock levels on company vehicles
Business Development
• Generate and follow up of new leads
• Identify new and manage existing product ranges to keep up with customer and consumer expectations
• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
• Conducting periodic market research and analysis
• Maintain and develop trusted long-term relationships with existing customers and distributors
• Represent the company at trade exhibitions, demonstrations and events when required
Administration
• Responsible for accuracy of all paperwork, figure work and City and Guilds paperwork
Legislation
• You will be expected to stay up to date on any relevant legislation changes or global developments
Additional
• Assist the Director’s in any special assignments / projects as requested, ensuring confidentiality at all times
Experience and Skills
Work Experience
• Previous and relevant sales experience
• Experience in the automotive/ agricultural sector is a distinct advantage
Knowledge and Skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High level of numeracy / literacy
• Strong IT skills, use Microsoft suite of packages
• Excellent networking skills
