This is an exciting opportunity to manage the delivery of software projects during an exciting time of growth and optimisation. Purpose of the role: Invar is seeking a seasoned Senior Design Engineer to join our expanding engineering team. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive experience to drive the design and implementation of advanced engineering solutions using AutoCAD or similar software, ensuring excellence in our integrated systems' sale and installation. You will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the functionality and security of all internal systems. Your deep expertise in Mechanical Engineering, combined with exceptional interpersonal skills, will enable you to engage effectively with stakeholders and deliver solutions that align with both company and customer objectives. Your goal is to craft innovative designs and technologies that optimise customer productivity and solidify Invar’s competitive edge. Responsibilities: Develop and refine concepts and layouts for automation projects, with a focus on intralogistics. Analyse and optimise logistical processes through collaboration with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. Prepare comprehensive solution proposals, perform calculations, and create impactful presentations. Conduct data analysis and contribute to strategic system development. Collaborate with pre-sales and post-sales teams, providing critical feedback on design elements. Evaluate and enhance the reliability and performance of internal systems, suggesting improvements as necessary. Ensure all designs comply with health and safety regulations. Formulate design strategies for future projects in alignment with company goals and resources. Produce high-quality CAD models, assemblies, and drawings, including detailed bills of materials. Develop bespoke system designs to meet customer specifications, coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders. Conduct site visits and attend client meetings to thoroughly understand requirements and deliver technical expertise. Ensure project designs adhere to relevant specifications, quality standards, and technical directives. Manage multiple projects efficiently, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints. Prioritise design tasks in alignment with customer and business needs. Requirements: Advanced qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field (e.g., BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, BSc). At least 10 years of experience in 3D CAD design, proficient in SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organisational and time-management skills. Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities. Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of professionalism. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Extensive practical and theoretical engineering expertise. Self-motivated with a structured approach to work.
