Job Title: Business Services Senior Manager / Director (Agricultural Sector) Location: Carlisle or Dumfries Role Overview: Due to growth and expansion, an exciting opportunity has opened for a Business Services Senior Manager or Director to join a leading Accountancy and Business Advisory team. This role offers the unique opportunity to support agricultural clients, providing expert financial guidance while advancing your career in a dynamic and supportive environment. We are seeking a qualified and experienced accounting professional with a strong understanding of rural and farming sectors, capable of delivering strategic financial insights and leading a team to excellence. Key Responsibilities: Manage a diverse client portfolio, with a focus on agriculture and rural businesses. Conduct client meetings independently, providing expert financial and business advisory services. Oversee the preparation of non-statutory, sole trader, and partnership accounts, as well as statutory financial statements in line with UK GAAP. Advise clients on tax matters, including Personal Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT, and Capital Taxes. Identify opportunities to cross-refer clients to other service lines for additional value. Stay updated with financial regulations and best practices in the agricultural industry, ensuring tailored financial solutions for clients. Monitor individual and team performance against objectives and KPIs, reporting to senior leadership. Drive business development initiatives, identifying opportunities for growth within the agricultural sector. Develop and manage a team, ensuring effective training, mentoring, and performance management. Build a strong network of professional contacts and develop referral opportunities. Candidate Requirements: Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS, or equivalent). Strong experience in preparing financial statements, tax advisory, and business services. In-depth understanding of the agricultural sector’s financial landscape, with the ability to provide tailored accounting solutions. Sound knowledge of UK taxes, including Personal Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT, and Capital Taxes. A strategic mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities and expand service offerings. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively. Ability to adapt to a variety of client needs, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
