Job Description Job Details Job Title: Technical Project Manager Band: 7 Hours of Work: 37.5 Department: Cambridge Reports to: Deputy Operations Manager Salary: £48,270 to £54,931 Role and Responsibilities Project Management: Manage technical projects within the Unified Communications department, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality standards. Develop project briefs, plans, and specifications adhering to PRINCE2 or other agreed methodologies. Maintain and update project records, documentation, and tools to improve efficiency and tracking. Coordinate with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors at every stage of the project lifecycle. Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring consistent and high-quality delivery. Ensure the seamless transition of completed projects into operational environments. Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and ensure benefits realization. Financial Management: Manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets and delivering value for money (VFM). Follow Trust procurement guidelines, including conducting mini-tenders where applicable. Monitor financial performance and VAT recovery as appropriate. Workforce Management: Provide leadership and support to project teams, acting as a role model for effective project management. Participate in training programs and contribute to team development. Communication: Liaise with Trust departments and external vendors to ensure effective project delivery. Prepare and present project progress reports and end-user briefings. Develop and implement effective communication plans to maintain stakeholder engagement. Technical Expertise: Configure and administer Microsoft servers and systems securely, adhering to governance standards. Collaborate with vendors on networking and system configuration. Maintain technical expertise in SQL, virtualization, and other relevant technologies. Person Specification Essential Criteria: Qualifications: Degree or equivalent professional qualification, or relevant experience. PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent project methodology certification. Demonstrated commitment to professional development. Experience: Technical project management experience in IT, voice, or contact center environments. Proven skills in project planning, stakeholder engagement, and change management. Budget and financial management experience. Hands-on technical IT experience in support, development, or implementation roles. Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of Microsoft server environments and IT infrastructures. Proficient in risk management, benefits realization, and compliance. Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating proactive problem-solving. Desirable Criteria: Qualifications: PRINCE2 Practitioner or ITIL certification. Additional certifications in change management, infrastructure architecture, or development. Experience: Knowledge of CAFM solutions, SQL database management, and Microsoft-based systems.
