Job Summary
Finance Assistant is required for this leading worsted and woollen, cotton and linen cloth finishers based in Keighley, West Yorkshire, who specialise in dyeing and finishing fine quality British fabrics for the clothing and furnishing industries.
We are looking for a good all-rounder who is dynamic, articulate, and confident to join our small production team. This is a key role in managing the finance function as well as undertaking general office duties. The right person will be highly motivated, reliable, and able to perform under pressure in a busy production environment. You must be a team player with a good work ethic and excellent communication skills.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance Function
1. Maintaining accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals and other financial documents
2. Preparing and processing invoices, managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments
3. An understanding of SAGE / ERPs would be beneficial
4. Processing of payroll on a weekly and monthly basis
5. Credit Control
6. Bank and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
7. VAT Preparation and submission
8. Contribution towards management accounts
9. Manage audit preparation
10. Produce reports for Shareholders/MD on a monthly basis
Admin Function
1. Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office
2. Processing delivery notes and inputting orders to create job batch cards for production
3. Maintaining internal systems and accuracy of stock inventory ensuring they are accurate
4. Update customers when required with stock information
5. Responding to and dealing with customer communications by email and telephone
6. Order management using the company's internal system TMS
7. Attention to detail is essential
Requirement
1. Experience of managing financial accounts is essential
2. Proficient in the use of MS Office packages – particularly Excel for data analysis
3. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
4. Comfortable in communicating with customers both verbally and in writing
5. Experience in delivering excellent customer service to a varied customer base
