Candidates should have relevant qualifications to postgraduate level or equivalent, coupled with relevant practical working experience and a sound knowledge of engineering and scientific principles. Medical engineering experience gained in a healthcare environment is desirable, though experience gained in other industrial medical technology settings may be transferable. Key skills should include medical devices applications & management in healthcare, product design & development, engineering production, metrology, service & project management, quality management, risk management and regulatory compliance in relation to medical devices. HCPC state registration is a role requirement, either at appointment or achievable within an acceptable timeframe thereafter. The post-holder will also be expected to achieve CEng professional registration within an agreed timeframe.
