About Shared Services
Our Shared Services team deliver specialist processes that have a direct impact on the performance of Network Rail, our customers and suppliers. These services include payroll, recruitment and onboarding, payables, receivables, financial accounting, reporting, controls and compliance, and helpdesk support.
What will you be doing?
To manage and deliver compensation to Train Operating Companies in line with Schedule 4 of the track access contract. Schedule for compensation, claims and forecasting as well as the delivery of utility billing for routes and regions. Provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders on utility industry processes and procedure, through the effective and efficient operation of the Energy Bureau Team.
About the role (External)
Main Responsibilities
1. Manage nominated Schedule 4 contracts to achieve the most cost effective spend of Network Rail compensation budget.
2. Undertake the validation of utility (electricity, gas and water) invoices, and the resolution of supplier bill queries with utility supplier to provide accurate invoicing for route customers
3. Produce and maintain timely and accurate Schedule 4 forecasts, estimates and management information.
4. Monitor, measure, analyse and report on energy usage to be reported to route finance and energy managers. Highlight and implement suggestions for improvement areas to assist routes in achieving carbon reduction targets.
5. Provide energy related advice and resolve queries from customers/stakeholders, both internal and external to Network Rail to agreed service level agreements.
6. Assist in managing effective relationships with customers and stakeholders, across Energy and Schedule 4.
7. Manage the engagement and development of individuals and of the team. Develop individual and team performance through effective people management processes.
8. Analysis of Quality KPIs, Systems Link and associated databases to identify issues requiring immediate attention thus enabling the upkeep of accurate database records.
9. To make recommendations and implement improvements to processes and procedures to reduce Network Rails energy consumption and related costs.
