Overview
Working as part of our existing Food Safety & Quality team, you will gain a wide range of food safety & quality and business experience skills through continuous on-the-job development with coaching and mentoring. Your role will see you tackle a wide range of business challenges in a busy environment with a view to progress into a management role within the FSQ team.
Responsibilities
The Role
Some of the responsibilities within the role are:
1. Assisting with food safety & quality operations, procedures and document control;
2. Ensuring the ongoing maintenance and updating of the department files including SOPs, Risk assessments, HACCP documents and quality management documents;
3. Assisting in carrying out audits as per schedule;
4. Assisting in evaluating the written SOPs being implemented, trained and complied with in all areas;
5. Assisting with the completion of Food Safety and Integrity Risk Assessment of our raw materials and ingredients;
6. Supporting the maintaining and managing of non-conformant logs;
7. Logging of complaints and communicating to the relevant personnel;
8. Assisting with close investigations into complaints including root cause analysis;
9. Carrying out the microbiological and chemical sampling of finished products and raw materials as per sampling schedule;
10. Carrying out internal audits and assisting with external and customer audits;
11. Working collaboratively with the Food Safety and Quality team to monitor quality assurance, hygiene and food safety activities;
Qualifications
The Person
1. A degree in a related discipline (Food Technology, Nutrition, Science);
2. An understanding and awareness of HSE requirements, always complying and operating in line with policies and procedures;
3. An understanding of operating integrity, quality processes and systems with high standards for compliance and quality;
4. Strong financial understanding and business acumen;
5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and enhance food safety understanding throughout the site;
6. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office;
7. Excellent time management;
8. Understanding of team dynamics, demonstrating the ability to work as an active and constructive member of a team with a professional enthusiastic attitude;
9. Excellent attention to detail;
10. HACCP trained is an advantage;
