Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust
Are you an enthusiastic Senior Specialist Audiologist or Clinical Scientist looking to join our team? We are a community-based department that supports the whole of Dorset. We have two main hubs in Bournemouth and Weymouth and hold clinics at other outstations across the county. This role would predominantly be based at our Bournemouth site.
Working as part of the Senior Adult Audiology Team within the Dorset Audiology Department, you will manage change and support service development. Clinical responsibilities include running complex adult hearing pathways and undertaking vestibular diagnostic testing as part of the Balance Team. You will also run Audiology Led ENT Clinics as part of your clinical and managerial responsibilities, which includes onward referral for imaging.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual wishing to develop their management and clinical skills as part of a growing service actively working towards UKAS IQIPS accreditation. You will work with the Head of Service, Clinical Leads, and the wider Senior Management team to facilitate quality improvement, manage aspects of the service, and line manage colleagues.
Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.
If you are interested in moving to Dorset, we also offer a generous relocation package of up to £10,000. For further details on relocation expenses please email dhc.careers@nhs.net.
Main Duties of the Job
You will be enthusiastic about service improvement and quality assurance, well-motivated, and flexible. You will provide a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitation service for our adult and paediatric patients. Good communication and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to provide excellent patient care and make clinical decisions. A BSc Hons Audiology / MSc with CCC in Audiology, or equivalent qualifications, is required. Higher training such as CAC / STP / or HTS would be desirable, especially in vestibular diagnostic testing. Experience of running autonomous vestibular assessment clinics is necessary.
You will also be required to work at our outstations at times; therefore, a car driver with a full current driving license would be beneficial.
