Job Purpose:
To deliver individual or multiple projects related to new works within allocated budgets and defined programmes. To be able to manage direct and subcontract labour and produce the required reports for all works. Key duties:
1. Prepare specifications briefs in consultation with staff
2. To compete works as per the SOR and to work within the parameters of the work books.
3. Prepare extra work SOR’s and to work closely with the commercial teams to get these issued.
4. Prepare labour plans and update labour trackers with real life information
5. Appoint and manage specialist contractors for the SOR’s
6. Attend regular approval meeting with Client interface
7. Work with the SPM & site supervisors to ensure the works are on target and to update programs and weekly project reports for the client.
8. Manage work through to effective completion and submit for invoicing
9. Ensure all works are managed in accordance with EMCOR standard operating procedures and Health and Safety regulations
10. To ensure a weekly housekeeping check is completed of the building and grounds where it is your responsibility ensuring all the areas are in a safe condition and is hazard free
11. Must be willing to undertake company standard internal training workshops and work to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), if applicable
12. Respond to requests made via the administration function and other EMCOR functions.
13. Ensure all RAMS are suitable and sufficient whether work is subcontracted or delivered by an in house team and are in place and adhered to
14. Follow the contract and EMCOR procurement policies
15. Manage projects from input to design specification, tender, installation to commissioning, practical completion, handover and invoicing
16. Co-ordinate the procurement and resource planning within the requirements of the contract needs
17. Ensure that all EMCOR quality control systems and procedures are implemented and maintained
18. Ensure appropriate record keeping in maintained and available for EMCOR and Client audits
19. Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors and suppliers
20. Manage all Health and Safety matters (CDM) in accordance with EMCOR procedures and current relevant legislation
21. Take responsibility for the successful project completion and formal handover in accordance with defined requirements outlined by the client or nominated client representatives
22. To ensure compliance with all EMCOR policies and procedures are maintained
Produce working programs and to amend an issue with weekly reports and including % completed against each task.
Person Specification
Skills:
23. Proven and extensive experience within a similar role
24. Operational and technical experience with demonstrated potential
25. Technical expertise, qualifications or apprenticeship in a craft skill or engineering discipline would be an important pre-requisite of the role
26. Proven experience in Project Management
27. Ability to plan and organise their work effectively to meet changing environments and needs
28. Proven track record to the successful delivery of multi task building, electrical and mechanical services related projects
29. Ability to liaise withand supervise contractors
30. Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and safe working practices
31. Demonstrable skills in dealing and working closely with internal and external customers and suppliers on complex and interrelated issues on an ongoing basis
32. To be able to communicate at all levels, with excellent written and oral skills
33. To be self motivated and to be able to motivate others, to be reliable and to be able to act with responsibility
34. IT skills required with specific reference to the Microsoft suite of packages
35. To be able to use Microsoft Project to basic standard as a minimum.
36. Hold sufficient Health and Safety (CDM) experience that allows the effective running of projects.
37. Preferably to hold SMSTS,SSSTS or IOSH
