The Position
This is an opportunity to work for a Global Powerhouse in Building Services.
You will work on projects in various sectors such as commercial, industrial, and high-end residential projects.
The suitable candidate needs to have strong experience in mechanical system designs and can comfortably act as a lead mechanical engineer on projects.
Responsibilities include:
1. Preparing conceptual designs of HVAC systems and pipe work systems.
2. Plant sizing and responsible for equipment selection/calculations.
3. Developing clear and concise drawings, specifications, and product schedules to define mechanical systems.
Due to a continuing number of project wins, this Consultancy will be able to support you with the opportunity to reach Principal and beyond.
In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will have to:
1. Meet the requirements of a ‘Senior Engineer’ grade and have a proven track record in leading projects for your discipline and supporting an overall project team.
2. Work using their own initiative with minimal supervision on technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role.
3. Work under the clear direction of the client and interpret the needs of the project as a whole to meet the full delivery needs.
4. Work in a joint leadership capacity within a mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) discipline team, providing design and technical advice with a multidisciplinary approach on a wide range of projects.
5. Complete the detailed designs of all mechanical systems associated with the project.
6. Consider the feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and lead the feasibility study for the project.
7. Take responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed and performance specification for the discipline subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.
8. Review design programmes and ensure that sufficient resources are available to complete the works.

Key Technical Requirements:
1. Good attention to detail and pride in the work produced.
2. A detailed understanding of the Part L regulations applicable to the discipline and how to demonstrate this through calculation.
3. A working understanding of TAS or IES to allow the allocation/direction of work on projects.
4. An understanding of working with RevitMEP or other 3D design software to allow the allocation/direction of work on projects.
5. Working knowledge of AutoCAD to allow the allocation/direction of work on projects.
Qualifications:
1. CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree or specific experience that will lead to Chartership.
2. IES or TAS training applied to the discipline.
3. RevitMEP training applied to the discipline.
4. Achieved or working towards I Eng or C Eng status.
5. BEng/BSc/MEng in applicable engineering discipline.
