Procurement Officer
Location: Cheshire
Contract Duration: 10 Month Contract
Rate: £22 per hour (Umbrella)
ARM are delighted to be supporting one of our clients with the recruitment of a Procurement Officer on an initial 10 month basis.
This role will support a professional sourcing, purchasing, contract and supplier management function for a wide range of goods and services, which meets the principles of the Corporate Procurement Strategy.
Responsibilities:
* Provide support to the Category Managers with procurement expertise in all aspects of sourcing, purchasing, contract and supplier management.
* Source goods and services and manage the supplier relationship to ensure that risks of contract failure are minimised.
* Develop and maintain systems and procedures to ensure that internal and external communications about all aspects of the procurement function.
* Work with Services and suppliers to carry out the aims and objectives of the Corporate Procurement Strategy.
* Develop and maintain market intelligence and professional networks.
* Provide accurate and timely advice to support the reporting and advisory requirements of the Procurement Manager.
Requirements:
* Considerable experience in a procurement role.
* Experience of managing procurement projects.
* Expert user of Oracle Discoverer.
* Experience using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Project, Visio, and PowerPoint.
* Knowledge and experience of sourcing, negotiating, tendering, contract, and supplier management.
* Good knowledge of Council policies, procedures, and regulations relating to procurement, contracts, finance, and corporate procurement strategy.
* Understanding of EU public procurement regulations, policies, and procedures.
* CIPS qualified preferred.
