Job Title: Security Officer 42 hours+ per week.
Location: The Princess Royal Hospital
Summary: £12.50 per hour.
The Security Officer plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors at the Princess Royal Hospital. This position requires a combination of vigilance, professionalism, and compassion, particularly when interacting with individuals who may be experiencing distress.
Key Responsibilities:
-Security and Protection:
-Safeguard hospital premises, staff, patients, and visitors.
-Respond to and manage security incidents and emergencies, following established protocols.
-Conduct regular patrols of the hospital and its grounds.
-Monitor CCTV systems and Control room responsibilities.
-Prevent and deter crime, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
-Patient and Visitor Interaction:
-Control access to the facility, ensuring proper visitor screening and adherence to hospital policies.
-Aid and directions to patients and visitors.
-De-escalate situations involving agitated or distressed individuals, employing conflict resolution techniques. De-escalation Management intervention DMI training to be provided.
-Demonstrate empathy and understanding when interacting with patients.
-Administrative and Reporting:
-Maintain accurate records of security incidents, patrols, and other relevant activities.
-Complete incident reports and other documentation as required.
-Liaise with hospital staff, law enforcement, and other relevant parties.
Requirements:
-Essential:
-Door Supervisor SIA (Security Industry Authority) license.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to work effectively in both team and independent scenarios.
-Physical fitness and ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
-Flexibility to do 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
Desirable:
-42 hours per week. 4 on 4 off rota
-Experience in security, preferably in a healthcare setting.
-First Aid and CPR training.
-Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.
