TL;DR Kharon is seeking a full-time UK-based Equity Research and Risk Analyst to join our team in London. This is a hybrid role and requires in-office attendance.
Responsibilities:
1. Reporting to the SVP of Product in London, this role will focus on developing data-driven written reports for the investment management industry.
2. Establishing a research program to cover issuers, sectors, and jurisdictions most exposed to sanctions, trade controls, and investment restrictions.
3. Working with Kharon subject matter experts and proprietary data to execute research on issuers engaged in business activities that are subject to or affected by economic restrictions.
4. Developing written products for investment management professionals, highlighting unique insights on issuers, sectors, and investment themes as relates to economic restrictions and related global security threats.
5. Systematically analyzing relevant data and translating complex information to identify key signals and risk metrics.
6. Managing and producing accurate risk analytics, contributing valuable insights.
7. Managing or mentoring analysts to deliver high-quality research and reports for investment professionals, sharing technical skills and analytical approaches.
8. Identifying and utilizing new data sources and analytical approaches, including artificial intelligence, to drive analysis on strategic topics.
9. Working with cross-functional teams to enhance Kharon’s data intelligence and platform offerings.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field.
2. 5 – 10 years of related analytical work experience as a research analyst at an investment bank, investment management firm, financial services firm, or other related advisory firm servicing the investment industry.
3. Experience in managing and leading analyst teams.
4. Knowledge of geopolitical risk analysis, including familiarity with global sanctions, international regulations, compliance issues, and ESG factors.
5. Strong understanding of financial modeling and analysis tools and platforms. Proficiency with programming languages like R, MATLAB, SQL, VBA, or Python is desirable.
6. High ethical standard, cultural awareness, and sensitivity to work respectfully in a diverse research environment.
