JOB TITLE: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
LOCATION: Hull
SHIFT PATTERN: Monday to Friday 630am-130pm and 130pm-9pm
THE COMPANY
Our client is a well -established organisation within a niche manufacturing sector, known for their commitment to engineering excellence and innovation. Due to continued growth and investment, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team.
THE ROLE
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for mechanical breakdown resolution, ensuring the efficient operation of all site equipment, and implementing preventative maintenance strategies. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out mechanical maintenance on all site equipment to maintain optimal performance.
Analyse data and trends to identify root causes of failures and implement corrective actions.
Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and manage parts & stock control.
Conduct mechanical inspections and testing to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Ensure smooth shift handovers and maintain accurate logs and documentation.
Investigate and resolve engineering-related accidents and incidents.
Work collaboratively with supervisors and managers to drive efficiency improvements.
Manage and coordinate spares, liaising with suppliers, procuring parts, and ensuring budget compliance.
Assist in safety assessments for new equipment.
Report on mechanical and electrical failures, ensuring timely resolutions.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in mechanical maintenance.
Proven experience providing technical advice and leading engineering solutions.
Strong technical expertise in maintenance or mechanical engineering.
Ability to work independently and use initiative.
Proficiency in reading, understanding, and following schematics.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment (desirable).
