The Schools Service in Northern Ireland is recruiting a School Co-ordinator to lead on the promotion of Talk Relationships, an NSPCC programme focused on Healthy Relationships for Post Primary Schools across Northern Ireland.
This is an exciting new position to drive forward the NSPCC's offer for Secondary Schools and is focused on promoting a Healthy Relationship Programme.
In 2021, the NSPCC announced a new 10+ year strategy to make the biggest impact we can, to stop child abuse and neglect. NSPCC Local Services teams are an essential part of how NSPCC's three main strategic goals will be delivered:
* Everyone plays their part to prevent child abuse.
* Every child is safe online.
* Children feel safe, listened to and supported.
The Schools Service team plays an integral part of our mission as it's responsible for delivering the schools offer.
The NSPCC's programme Talk Relationships supports secondary school teachers to confidently deliver Healthy Relationships education. Our aim is for all secondary-school-aged young people to understand healthy relationships, and how to seek help, in a safe and responsive education environment.
Do you have experience of delivering programmes in an educational or safeguarding setting?
Do you have well-developed stakeholder relationship management skills?
Have you enjoyed working with diverse groups of people?
Have you experience of working towards and meeting set targets/KPIs?
If so, we would love you to apply for the Schools Coordinator position.
Reporting to the Schools Manager, the Schools Coordinator role will:
* Lead on the promotion, engagement and success of our Talk Relationships programme across Northern Ireland.
* Be the single point of contact for secondary schools across Northern Ireland.
* Be part of our UK wide Talk Relationships Schools Co-ordinator Working Group.
* Be part of our local School Service team in Northern Ireland covering all schools and educational settings.
* Work to set targets and KPIs.
* Be responsible for building and maintaining internal and external relationships.
* Be confident in presenting to stakeholders and senior school leaders.
* Represent Talk Relationships, Local Services and NSPCC Schools Service in the public forum.
* Be an active contributor to internal projects and workstreams.
As a member of our team, our organisational values and behaviours would be important to you. We want someone who will take a child-centred approach, has a strong belief in the rights of children, and has a clear understanding and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of life and practice.
Please apply by filling out the full application form and a supporting statement that provides your experience with clear examples that demonstrate how you meet each point of the person spec. Please note that the assessment of this role is less weighted to volunteer management experience (Competency 2) as this role will not be managing volunteers.
Interview dates: Week Beginning 21st April 2025.
For further information or an informal conversation about the role please contact Karen Walker, karen.walker@nspcc.org.uk.
