Our client, market leaders in metal recycling, requires a Yard Operative (End-of-Life Vehicle Operative) to work at their site in Kingsbury Tamworth. No previous experience is necessary as full training is provided. Possible permanent position following a successful trial period. Role Profile: End-of-Life Vehicle Operative responsible for efficiently and safely processing end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) to recover valuable metals and materials. This role plays a crucial part in our clients commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible practices, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and contributing to the circular economy.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Depollution:
* Executing the depollution process for end-of-life vehicles, including the removal of fluids, batteries, and other hazardous materials.
* Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and health and safety protocols during depollution activities.
Dismantling and Salvage:
* Conducting systematic dismantling of vehicles to recover reusable components and valuable metals.
* Identifying salvageable parts and materials, maximizing the recycling potential of each vehicle.
Operational Efficiency:
* Optimizing the workflow and processes to enhance efficiency in end-of-life vehicle processing.
* Collaborating with team members to streamline operations and improve productivity.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
* Operating and maintain specialized equipment, such as hydraulic shears, crushers, and material handling machinery.
* Conducting routine checks and minor repairs on equipment to ensure smooth operations.
Health and Safety:
* Adhering to strict health and safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment.
* Promoting a culture of safety awareness among team members.
Material Sorting and Segregation:
* Sorting recovered materials based on type and quality.
* Ensuring accurate segregation of metals, plastics, and other materials for recycling.
Quality Control:
* Monitoring and maintaining the quality of processed materials to meet industry standards.
* Conducting regular quality checks to identify and address any deviations.
Documentation and Compliance:
* Completing all required documentation for each processed vehicle, adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
* Staying informed about changes in regulations related to end-of-life vehicle processing.
The package:
* Monday – Friday
* 07:00 – 16:00
* £12.35 per hour
