As a Team Leader you will guide and support a multi-disciplinary function enabling the safe and effective utilisation of our fleet and equipment across the South West. Our patients expect the highest standards of care and your role will be essential in ensuring this continues.
Main duties of the job
The Service Centre Team Leader is responsible for the day to day leadership of friendly, professional teams ensuring that vehicle and equipment maintenance is carried out to the highest standards.
As a Team Leader you will ensure that we meet the maintenance and service plans against agreed departmental KPIs and job cycle times.
The successful candidates will manage the implementation and delivery of a continuous improvement and workplace methodology for fleet maintenance activities.
You will demonstrate compassionate and collaborative leadership, supporting a diverse team, whilst having a keen eye for detail and a desire to help grow and improve the Fleet and Equipment service across a geographically large area.

Person Specification
Education and qualifications
* HND in Mechanical/Electrical or electronic engineering or equivalent/similar qualifications, OR knowledge demonstrated at equivalent standard gained through relevant experience/training
* Full driving license held for at least one year with no current endorsements
* IOSHH health and safety qualification
* Membership of a professional vehicle institution
* Significant experience in area of expertise
* Significant experience of managing staff in staff at all level
* Experience of working to targets and KPI's
* Experience of working in busy service centre, workshop or vehicle preparation sites unsupervised and with flexible/shift working patterns.
* Experience of developing and implementing policy
* Previous NHS ambulance experience
* Experience in carrying out vehicle/equipment maintenance/preparation

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 per annum/pro rata
