An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Recovery Nurse to join our team in theatre recovery. The successful candidate will be based in Arrowe Park Hospital recovery as well as outlying areas after training such as Eye Theatre Recovery, ERCP, Women's and Children's recovery.
A full training package is offered with the area's educational team and a six month period of working alongside an experienced member of staff.
The role includes weekends and nights but not until competency is evidenced.
All staff will be expected to complete ILS/PLS if never done before or an update as per trust policy.
Main duties of the job
* Participate under the supervision of the specialist core team members in the planning, delivery and evaluation of care for all patients during the peri-operative period (utilising and adapting transferable skills acquired during training.)
* With support from Senior practitioners, act as lead for team during their delivery of care within specific operating lists.
* Maintain accurate records of the theatre episodes in line with trust/departmental policy.
* Promote the safety, well being and interests of patients, staff and visitors to the clinical area.
* Promote clinical governance by actively participating in the risk management process within the Trust.
* Value and respect individuals by actively adopting the Trust core values and behaviours.
