Base pay range
Location: Templeborough Biomass Power Plant (on site)
Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday
Basic Salary: £40-50k plus car allowance and annual company bonus

We’re looking for a Contract Manager (we call it Fuel Manager in our world!) to join our team at Templeborough. This role is responsible for managing the relationship with key suppliers and ensuring that the Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA) is executed in line with its terms. You will oversee fuel procurement, supplier relationships, compliance, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities
Fuel Supply Management
* Ensure correct ordering, delivery, and payment processes for waste wood.
* Monitor stock levels and adjust fuel orders as needed.
* Oversee fuel deliveries and liaise with site operators on fuel acceptance.
Contract & Compliance
* Ensure obligations under the Fuel Supply Agreement are met by both Buyer and Seller.
* Maintain accurate records and compliance with legal requirements.
* Work with stakeholders to refine and enhance contract terms where necessary.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
* Chair weekly calls and monthly meetings with suppliers, ensuring actions are documented and followed up.
* Manage contractual claims and fuel quality disputes.
Quality Assurance
* Monitor and analyse fuel quality, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
* Work with site operators to improve inspection procedures and fuel sampling.
* Audit supply depots to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Reporting & Payment Management
* Oversee the payment mechanism and review supplier invoices for accuracy.
* Maintain logs of key fuel events and produce regular reports.
* Provide updates to senior management on fuel procurement, quality, and compliance.
Health & Safety Compliance
* Ensure all safety, environmental, and legal requirements are met regarding fuel supply and deliveries.
* Prepare risk assessments and investigate incidents related to fuel procurement.
Who You Are
* Experience in fuel procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, ideally within a time-critical environment.
* Strong understanding of how to interpret and manage commercial agreements.
* Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to resolve conflicts professionally.
* Strong analytical and reporting skills, with attention to detail.
* A good team player who is happy to share the site project workload with the wider team, in order to provide a consistently good service to our client.
* Comfortable working within MS Office products, including Excel.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations or experience of working within a safety-first environment.
* The ability to work independently and proactively and collaboratively manage contractual obligations.
* A background in chemistry or lab work may also be helpful.
