Quality Engineer
Location: Bedford
Salary: GBP40,000 - GBP50,000 per year, DoE
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 9am - 5.30pm. Friday 9am - 3pm

Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients recruit for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their ever-expanding team. As the Quality Engineer you will oversee the quality control processes within the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer:
Quality Improvement
· Implement formal quality control procedures based on best practices.
· Define shop floor processes and procedures in collaboration with operational teams.
· Identify and implement new processes and equipment to enhance production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with ISO9001 standards.
· Investigate and report non-conformances and customer complaints.
· Carry out internal audits and support supplier audits in collaboration with purchasing teams.
· Monitor supplier quality performance criteria and ensure adherence to set standards.
· Manage and control equipment calibration.
Data Management & Performance
· Collect and analyze quality performance data, including reporting in management review meetings.
· Monitor and support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven insights.
· Provide regular quality reports, including technical-related debit notes and customer returns analysis.
Training & Team Support
· Conduct quality induction training for all new employees.
· Organize and oversee local quality training within the department and factory.
· Support teams with documentation and modifications of the Quality Management System (QMS).
· Lead and document quality meetings to address ongoing issues and improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Cooperate with purchasing teams to enhance supplier quality performance.
· Support client and customer correspondence regarding quality-related inquiries.
· Ensure product UL compliance and other regulatory requirements are met.
· Align with corporate values, ethics, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments.
Requirements of the Quality Engineer:
· Proven experience in a manufacturing and assembly environment.
· Knowledge of metal component handling, storage, and movement best practices.
· Strong time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
· Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.
· High level of accuracy, responsibility, and attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
· Familiarity with MS Office and data management tools.
· Commercial and financial awareness related to quality control.
