At Homes for Support, we’re looking for skilled and compassionate individuals to join our leadership and management team as Team Leaders in our Therapeutic and EBD Residential Children’s Homes. About Homes for Support
Homes for Support provides therapeutic residential care for children and young people aged 5 to 18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties and learning disabilities. Our well-structured and supportive environment ensures both our team and the children in our care can thrive. To support professional development, our two- to six-bedroom Residential Children's Homes are located close to our Head Office and in-house Training Venue in Crewe, Cheshire.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed as a Team Leader, you should:
1. Have experience in residential childcare, Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare/Health and Social Care or equivalent and strong leadership skills
2. Be an excellent communicator and role model for staff and young people
3. Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and delivering high-quality child-centred care
4. Be confident in managing challenging situations and making informed decisions
5. Have the ability to support the development of young people in a structured, nurturing environment
Our team operates on a six-day rolling shift pattern: two days on (including sleep-ins), followed by four days off, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.
Your Responsibilities
As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
1. Ensuring the highest standard of care, safeguarding, and emotional support for children in our homes
2. Supporting young people with education, school attendance, and extracurricular activities
3. Promoting independence by teaching essential life skills such as budgeting, shopping, and cooking
4. Leading, mentoring, and supervising a team of childcare professionals, ensuring best practices and compliance with regulations
5. Advocating for children and working collaboratively with families, social workers, and other professionals
6. Managing home operations, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to service development
Salary & Benefits
Salary: up to £33,108 (including sleep-ins, with additional enhancements available)
Shift Pattern: 2 days on, 4 days off (10 shifts/10 sleep-ins per month) with 14 days of annual leave
