We seek to appoint a casual Level 2 Swimming Teacher to join our fantastic team.
Tewkesbury Academy Sports Centre Swim School provides swimmers the opportunity to develop from beginners through to an advanced level.
We are looking for a Swimming Teacher to join our team on a casual basis to assist with the delivery of our Swim School lessons. We also run school swimming lessons and may have some hours available to cover these (run during school hours and term time only).
Currently, our Swim School programme services over 250 children (with a waiting list of over 60 children) and runs for 50 weeks of the year (2 weeks off over the Christmas period) and presently takes place every weekday afternoon from 3.30pm and Saturday mornings from 9am. There are a variety of hours available.
Additional hours will be available for cover, plus school swimming lessons, as well as having the opportunity to coach one-to-one swimming lessons.
Our qualified instructors help all individuals achieve their goals as well as gain confidence in the water. Swimming lessons follow the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework, starting at Stage 1 through to Stage 7.
Tewkesbury Academy Sports Centre is based in the grounds of Tewkesbury Academy. It is a dual-use centre, which means that the school students use the facilities during school hours and the wider community can use the facilities in the evenings, at weekends and during the school holidays.
Please note a 14% holiday percentage is payable on top of the hourly rate (£21.49 per hour).
The Academy is well placed at Junction 9 of the M5. It is equidistant between Bristol and Birmingham and close to the Cotswolds, the Malvern Hills and the historic towns of Gloucester, Worcester and Cheltenham. Tewkesbury itself is a pretty, medieval market town with fine half-timbered buildings, overhanging upper storeys, narrow alleys and a beautiful 12th-century Norman abbey.
