Full job description
Sheffield Hallam University is looking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy. This opportunity would ideally suit an experienced Band 6 or above Occupational Therapist working in the NHS (or equivalent) that has expertise in formal teaching, training, supervision, and/or higher education.
You will be involved in the delivery of our MSc Occupational Therapy course and inter-professional portfolio where there will be opportunities to take on academic leadership responsibilities. We are looking for an individual who can inspire our students and make a valuable contribution to their learning experience, whilst preparing them for contemporary practice.
You must be an HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist and have well-developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to contemporary practice and pre-registration education. You will ideally be at the forefront of new ways of working in the NHS, in either primary or secondary settings, demonstrating care innovation and emergent management pathways.
The role also requires you to contribute to our pre-registration courses through teaching, assessing, and academic citizenship/research activity. The ability to inspire, enthuse, and connect with a range of backgrounds is required. You will support students’ academic and placement learning progression and work collaboratively to enhance the student experience.
Sheffield Hallam University offers a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.
If you have any questions and/or would like to meet the team, you would be most welcome to attend an online event on Wednesday 15th January at 16:00-17:00hrs.
Please email Katie Peck on: k.peck@shu.ac.uk to book your place.
For this job, we particularly welcome applications from minority ethnic applicants who are underrepresented in this area/this type of job at Sheffield Hallam.
