THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be assigned a clinical supervisor and will receive experience in Acute General Medicine during atwo-yearperiod. Candidates may also have the opportunity to engage in rotations in Geriatric Medicine, Ambulatory care and Intensive care at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
The appointee will be expected to undertake audit and quality improvement projects, as well as to attend clinical governance meetings, mortality and morbidity meetings, regional and national educational meetings. Research activity is encouraged. The close links with the University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University will further enhance research engagement.
The appointee will actively participate in the local educational programme of teaching undergraduates as well as postgraduates.
The post-holder will join a groupof residents andconsultants who lead one of the eight Medical Firms, all of which are well staffed with a core team of 3 residents at any one time. The resident rotas support 7 day working including Bank Holidays.

Clinical:The appointee will be responsible, together withother residents, for both inpatient and outpatient work.
Administration Duties:These include responsibility for inpatient discharge summaries, outpatient letters etc and the management of other resident staff on the team.
