Based in Aberdeen, the client is an established construction group renowned for delivering high-quality construction & civil engineering projects throughout Scotland. Presently, they are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team during a period of growth in Aberdeen and contribute to their continued success.
In your new role as Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civils), you will be responsible for running the daily commercial function across civil engineering projects. Within this role, you will be offered a hybrid working model. Responsibilities will include:
1. Managing all costs relating to civil engineering projects from initial calculations to final figures.
2. Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure project milestones are achieved.
3. Providing input on potential cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
4. Preparing contract documents, including bills of quantities.
5. Monitoring and controlling project budgets, ensuring that financial targets are met.
6. Handling variations, claims, and disputes effectively and efficiently.
7. Producing detailed progress reports and forecasts.
8. Mentoring and supporting junior quantity surveyors.
As a minimum requirement, you must have at least 5 years of experience working as a surveyor on civil engineering projects and possess in-depth knowledge of the roles mentioned. Ideally, you will have a degree in a construction or civil engineering related field and previous experience delivering projects within budget.
