The education and experiences we offer equips our young people with the leadership skills, team spirit, resilience and confidence to become outstanding citizens.About the roleLeading a team of TAs and an assistant SENDCO.Provide professional guidance to staff to secure good teaching for Sen students, through both written guidance and meetingsLead on the performance management process for SEN teachers and Learning Support AssistantLead weekly meetings and CPD for the intervention teachers and Learning Support Assistants, quality assuring that LSAs are using metacognitive questioning and Bosanquet’s triangle when supporting in lessonsQuality assures student learning profiles to ensure they are being updated, and amendments are appropriate and being implementedWork with the intervention practitioners to secure the most appropriate provision for students with SEN and those vulnerable learners, including identifying students to start the EBSA pathwayAttend Pastoral meetings and work closely with the Pastoral managers, DSL and attendance team to triage supportCo-ordinate all annual reviews and reviews of individual education plans and/or PSP and EBSA plans where appropriate and attend/chair when necessaryExercise a key role in assisting the Executive Principal and Head of School in the strategic development of SEN policy/provisionAdvise on and contribute to the professional development of staff, including whole school INSET provisionProvide regular information to the Executive Principal and Head of School and governing body on the evaluation of SEN provisionMaintain and develop resources, coordinate their development and monitor their effectiveness in meeting the objectives of school and SEN policiesFlexibility with subject expertise and Teaching 9/25 lessonsNPQ SEND qualification (either started, completed or prepared to take up)Plan, prepare and deliver specified learning activities to individuals, small groups and/or classes modifying and adapting activities as necessary under the direction and supervision of a teacherAssess, record and report on development, progress and attainmentLiaise with staff and other relevant professionals and provide information about students as appropriateUse teaching and learning objectives to plan, evaluate and adjust lessons/work plans as appropriate within agreed systems of supervisionAssess the needs of students and use knowledge and specialist skills to support students’ learningSupport students in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriateDevelop and implement Individual Development Plans for students (such as Individual Educational Plans), including attendance at, and contribution to, reviewsSupport the role of parents/carers in students’ learning and contribute to meetings with parents/carers to provide constructive feedback on student progress/achievement etc.Liaise with external agencies on a regular basis, responding to EHCP consults in a timely manner.Provide pastoral care to students.
